Selection of the Chancellor of JKUAT - Alumni

The Alumni Association plays a very important role in the selection of the Chancellor of a University. The term of the current Chancellor of JKUAT ends on November 27th, 2018. The role of the Alumni is being invoked in the selection of the next Chancellor of JKUAT.

The Chancellor is the titular head of the University who confers degrees and diplomas, certificates and other awards of the University. The Chancellor also advices the Council, from time to time, on matters of necessity for the betterment of the University. The person is expected to steward the University to mobilize resources for the advancement of research, training and innovation.

The University Senate during its meetings on October 25th, 2018 settled on ten names. Five of the ten indicated that they would accept to serve JKUAT as the Chancellor. You are invited to vote on five candidates to help inform the choice of the University Chancellor for the next five years.
